Kidnapping movie from around 2006-2018

When I was little, I remember watching a movie with my parents that I never saw again.

It’s on colours, probably around 2006-2018, I think it was in english and I was too young to identify any actors

The movie was about a girl who was kidnapped by a human trafficking ring. I’m not sure, but I think an ambulance was involved in the kidnapping. I know that a man who was a close friend of the parents or the family was looking for the girl along with his son. The kidnappers faked the girl’s death using another kidnapped girl and paid doctors to fake the autopsy. When they find the body it is laying on a bath tub full of gasoline and is also disfigured. In the end, they find the girl and other kidnapped kids and the girl also lost 2 fingers.

Do you know the movie? I really want to rewatch it😭😭

detective/drama/thriller/police

Looking for a crime/thriller movie I watched around 2021 — help identify it

I’ve been trying to find the title of an American crime/detective movie I saw (probably released between 2010 and 2019, could be off by a few years). It had strong investigative and dramatic elements, especially near the end, and took place in a gloomy small town.

Here’s what I remember:

  • The main character is a female detective, possibly in her late 30s or early 40s. She’s experienced and a bit jaded.
  • At some point in the story, a Black sheriff or police chief tells her the case has been cold for a long time, with no leads.
  • She’s assigned a young male partner — tall, skinny, around 25–28, with styled or swept-up hair.
  • At first, she doesn’t like him much, but over time she grows to respect his intellect and sharp mind during the investigation.
  • Together, they trace the case to a house owned by the suspected killer — someone the police hadn’t been able to catch.
  • During the raid on the house, the young partner recklessly rushes in and gets shot in the forehead — he dies instantly.
  • The woman is then left to face the killer alone inside the house. The atmosphere becomes very tense and suspenseful.
  • The killer is a large, disturbing man who hides in different rooms and tries to lure her in.
  • She also has to deal with his dog, which he sics on her — though I may be misremembering this detail.
  • Despite the danger, she manages to outsmart and capture the killer.

Some additional emotional details I recall:

  • Before the final raid, the young partner confessed his feelings to the female detective. Despite their age difference, he kissed her near a bridge or by a river while standing close to the railing.

Possibly the killer did something with women’s skin and hid bodies in his basement — again, not 100% sure.

This might not have been a very popular or successful film — maybe low budget or straight-to-streaming, so I’m open to obscure suggestions. I’ve searched everywhere but still haven’t found it.

If this sounds familiar to anyone, I’d really appreciate the help šŸ™

man in jail for killing his wife and daughters. Woman finds a diary in his now abandoned house and sees flashbacks

Ā  Ā  It starts off with a man in jail, he meets up to who i think it was the lawyer; a woman that is open to listen to him and find out the truth about what happened. He has a scar in his head from something that led up to the murder that got him in jail and i think he was bald. He was in jail for allegedly killing his wife and two young daughters.

The woman goes on to search for clues (?) in his now abandoned house, and as she goes up the stairs she stumbles across what i remember being a diary in one of the steps. she starts reading it and we see the flashbacks of the house being brand new and the whole family present and we get to see everything that happens as she’s reading it.

by the end the two little girls get shot by someone (i don’t remember being the dad). They are in their rooms when it happens and dad sees it and goes up to them, i believe.

Looking for a movie – epilepsy triggered by flickering sunlight leads to misunderstood car accident / possible murder

Hi folks! I’m trying to track down a mystery film (probably English-language ) I saw many years ago—likely from the 1970s to 1990s. Here’s what I remember:

  • The story involves a person who dies in a car accident.
  • At first, it’s believed to be a murder, but eventually it’s revealed the person suffered from epilepsy.
  • The key plot twist is that the epilepsy was triggered by sunlight flickering through evenly spaced trees lining a rural road—something like a strobe effect as the person drove through.
  • This sensory trigger caused a seizure while driving, which led to the accident.
  • The roadside had trees planted at equal distances, and the timing of the shadows with the sun being low was critical to the effect.
  • The setting was mostly rural, and I think the medical explanation came later as a twist or resolution.

It was a full-length film, not a short or TV episode. Any leads would be amazing—this has been stuck in my head for years. Thanks in advance!

60s Western gunfight memory

One small memory, from an old western I saw probably in the late sixties. There is a gunfight going on between a couple groups, somebody is shot in the stomach and the other guy is tending to him and he says.. he has a bunch of white stuff oozing out of his belly, (or something like that. )That’s all I remember. It may have been black and white, it may have been a night time shooting scene. Maybe it was a good movie? I’d like to know what it is after many many years.

Woman walks into a thin metal wire around her neck and hang her

I came across thisĀ Baron VonWestphalenĀ youtube channel that contains gruesome death scenes of female characters. His intro is pretty much the same in every video uploaded. I’m interested in knowing what is the name of the first scene where the woman has a metal wire tied around her neck and pulled her up in the opening. I though I have seen it somewhere before but I cannot remember. please help finding it. Here is link:Ā https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XE87i6uT2M4. It is the first scene. Anyone recognizes it by chance?

Family Getting Mugged

Hello,

Does anyone recognize this movie? So, this family (husband, wife, and young son) are walking and get lost in a city. I think it some kind of undergorund tunnel. At first the dad is approached by some homeless guy who says, “Mr. give me a dollar.” Then, another homeless guy approaches them and punches the father and takes his wallet and says to the mom, “Do the kid a favor; don’t scream.” Does this sound familair?

Two young people driving in the desert in a strange dystopian world

I think I saw this movie at least 10 years ago, maybe more. I think it was in color.

The dialogue was all in English, with American actors.

A young actor like Christian Slater co-stars with an young woman driving in the desert. In a particularly memorable scene, they stop for gas. She drives off with gas nozzle still in her car which rips it off the gas pump. She returns to the gas station to fill out some forms. The gas station attendant asks “What were you thinking about?” and has her write it down. Much later, it turns out that she is actually in a coma and her experiences in this place are not real. It has some dark humor. Most of the scenes take place in her coma-delusion, in a strange depopulated, somewhat dystopian world. This takes place in current time, not the future. The dark humor was particularly funny and off-beat. Most of the people she meets in this somewhat dystopian world seems unaware of what seems to be happening to them and around them. For most of the movie, neither she nor the audience is aware she is in a coma. This was all live action, not animated. There were little if any horror elements. The humor was quite dry and quite extensive throughout the movie. I think that the young man and the young woman driving through the desert or wasteland did not know each other until they met in this coma-world. He might have been a hitchhiker she picked up along the way. Gradually, a love blossoms between them. Neither we (as the audience) nor the female protagonist are made aware she is in a coma until near the end of the movie. We know for sure she was in a coma because she awakens from her coma at the end in the hospital.Ā  The main characters were young and quite likeable. It was a haunting and thought provoking movie, though funny and never preachy.

I need help looking for this particular American movie. These are the only scenes I remember. One scene is of a little girl in class hitting a boy…

I need help looking for this particularĀ movie.Ā  These are the only scenes I remember.Ā  One scene is of a little girl in class hitting a boy because he showed the teacher a picture she made of a man’s privates.Ā  Another scene, unfortunately, is of the little girl masturbating in the back of a car while two adult cops are sitting up front due to her being sexually abused.Ā  There’s also a scene where a man lays down plastic in a living room before committing suicide.Ā  It’s one of those obscureĀ moviesĀ like ā€œKing of the Antsā€ that came out in 2003,Ā ā€œAmerican Nightmareā€ that came out in 2002 or “Feardotcom” that came out in 2002.

The boy opened the book and an animal crawled out of it, he caught it back with the same book

Fantasy film, similar in essence to “Night at the Museum”. Filmed I think from 2000-2012, USA, in English. Color. I don’t remember the plot, but I remember one scene clearly, I can confuse it and mix it with something else, but I don’t think so. So a boy of about 13 and his father, as I remember, no mother. They went to the library, at least there was dough and a lot of books on the shelves up to the ceiling (not exactly), the boy was not interested, but he was interested in 1 book, about animals. He opened it on a page where it seemed like a black and white kharek was depicted (this is not certain, just a small, white, fast animal) he looked at the picture for 5+ seconds and after which the hare came to life and jumped out of the book, after which, so that his father would not catch him, he and another girl his age began to catch this animal, but the animal ran to the book itself, and again in it became a picture. I don’t remember anything else. It’s not an ink heart, not horror films, not a golden compass. It’s something that’s not popular. It’s not a fact, but it seems like there was a boy and a girl on the poster first.animal, and they were covered in golden pollen. I myself probably saw this film on TV on some channel

A movie about pandemics

I’m looking for a movie that I’ve seen at least few years ago (movie can be even 20 years old) in the TV. It was in English, I believe. It is about pandemics/virus outbreak.

I remember one scene from the end of the movie – people are locked in their houses, that are covered with some transparent plastic sheets. Inside, I think there is a little girl with a woman, outside there is a man – they cannot let him enter inside. Outside, people are dressed in special white laboratory jumpsuits. But in the end it turns out that the people who survive are the ones locked out, not locked in.

It is not “Contagion”.

Thank you!

I need this film

I’m looking for a movie I once saw, maybe on HBO Go. It’s about a boy with long blonde hair who meets a girl—she has dark hair, maybe black—possibly at the beach. They get to know each other, but both become heroin addicts. The boy ends up stealing money from his younger sibling to buy heroin.

I think the boy was a student at first but started attending school less and less as his addiction worsened.

At the end of the movie, the boy manages to quit heroin with the help of someone connected to the girl, but the girl doesn’t manage to quit.

The actors weren’t very famous, and the film had a raw, realistic feel.

GIRL WITH A BOTTLE OF WATER

HELLO EVERYONE! I don’t remember exactly if it’s an excerpt from a movie or a piece of commercial, or just a video. The atmosphere is dark, the girl is in the house, and the guy seemed to be peeking at her through the window, a girl in a sporty outfit, shorts and a tank top, I think. She drinks water from a bottle and caresses herself, she’s Wet. And I may be confusing it, but was Grandma there? Grandma is either a guy in disguise or I don’t remember much. Please help me 😩

Drama movies not remembering anything

I only remember the ending ..the main character is a handsome rich man who see his girlfriend or wife who’s either blonde, ginger or some kind of very light brunette all the time although she’s either dead or imaginary and in the end he decides to say goodbye to her in a dramatic scene where she walks to the window until she disappears gradually and he’s crying with his father i think and maybe his mother or sister I really don’t know but they hug him and cry

I think it was in the time between 2005 and 2015 maybe till 2017 It’s american or British and that’s all I know ..

Looking for older movie: father and daughter visit man in woods, dad disappears, man bonds with girl

I saw this movie when I was a kid, probably sometime between 2002 and 2008. But I’m almost certain the movie was not new at the time — it felt older, probably made in the 1980s or 1990s, definitely before 2000.

Here’s what I remember:

  • A young girl, maybe 7 to 13 years old, goes with her dad to visit a man who lives alone in the woods — a remote, forested area. Not sure if they’re related.
  • One morning, the dad is just gone. No real explanation that I remember — he just disappears and doesn’t come back.
  • The girl ends up staying with the man, and over time, they develop a positive, almost father-daughter-like bond.
  • I somewhat remember one scene : Where the man introduced the girl to his friends, it was next to a river and the friends were together by the back of an old pickup truck. Well, at least I think they were his friends.

Throwing a boombox into a basketball hoop

I don’t remember the names of the actors and the main characters. I don’t remember the main plot either.

The film is in the drama genre. It was filmed either in the late 1980s or in the 1990s. The events seem to take place in the same years.

The film is American, the events also unfold in one of the cities in the USA.

I remember only one scene, one episode clearly.

Daytime. A basketball court. Only two teenagers or young men are playing on it. There are no other people on the court. Nearby on the ground are two large cassette recorders – boomboxes. One of them is playing some music.

A man enters the court and starts talking to these guys. He looks about 30-40 years old, he is white. According to the plot, he is, as far as I remember, a policeman. But in a conversation with the boys, he does not advertise this and pretends to be a drug addict. He asks them if they know where you can buy drugs. The boys tell the man that they do not know where drugs are sold. He does not believe them and behaves rather strangely.

He says: “It is easy to hit a round ball into a round basketball hoop.” Then he picks up one of the tape recorders from the ground and throws it up. The tape recorder – a boombox – hits the basketball hoop, falls through it and breaks to pieces. The boys are extremely surprised and confused, but still remain silent. Then the man bends down to pick up another tape recorder. Then one of the boys cannot help himself and says; “No need, this is my tape recorder.” After which, apparently, he gives the man the information he needs.

A film about vampires

I saw the film a long time ago, but I never watched it to the end, I watched it on a VHS tape, the beginning was cut off, so I don’t even know the title.
I only remember the moment when the vampire went into a store, most likely into the toilet in the store, where some lustful man began to harass her. She tore out his heart, wrapped it in a paper grocery bag and gave it to him, after which he fell. I don’t remember exactly, but there were three vampires, probably something like sisters.
A film from around the 80s.
