It was a gothic ghost story more about the sense of helplessness and dread rather than the action. Based on a book I think. A woman moves into a large house with her fiancée triggering a curse placed against him by the groundskeepers ancestor’s ghost who died after the soon to be grooms ancestor had indicted the right of prima nocte and had sex with the groundskeepers wife on the groundskeepers wedding day, I think resulting in her death. The groundskeeper and lord of the manor were somehow related. The lord tried to make amends, I think offering the manor itself, but the groundskeeper preferred revenge and left the curse in place. It was in color, but it had an old feel to it, probably a strait vhs rip from something originally shot on film in the 70’s. It was on a streaming service of some sort.
“And Now the Screaming Starts!” (1973)??
It was based on a novella called ” Fengriffen” and the movie was also called Fengriffen and The Bride of Fengriffen. You can watch it for free on YouTube, I put the link down below.
