I think I saw this film when I was 6/7 so would have been approximately between 1995-1997. It was in colour on tv, I watched it with my nana, it began with a woman organising a surprise birthday cake for her husband on the phone to her friend, when she gets off the phone her husband quizzes her then starts throwing pans off her in the kitchen, the wife flees with her daughter to a refuge for women and children where they have to share a room with a coloured lady and her children who are also hiding from a violent husband. They all become good friend taking turns taking the kids to school, until one day the colour ladies husband finds her and stabs her getting off the bus. The white lady and her daughter get a house in a quiet estate (she os a hairdresser) and cuts and colours hers and her daughter’s hair (hers is cut short and dyed red). She is picking h er daughter up from school while her husband is knocking at her neighbours doors showing a photograph of them both asking for information, he finds their house and climbs over the back gate and hides under the kitchen bench for them to return then strangles the mum, an elderly man has rang the police, her nose is bleeding when police turn up it ends with the mum siintting on the back of an ambulance with her daughter. Very detailed but I’ve never been able to find out the name please help it was a good film.
