70s or 80s, mirror starts bending, then shatters, killing someone

Hi, I saw this on TV in the 70s (or maybe 1980-81).  I think it was a TV show, not a movie on TV, but I’m not sure.  Horror genre, I suppose, since I think something supernatural was at work in the scene I remember:  someone’s looking in a tall mirror on the wall.  The mirror starts warping / bending / buckling, and then suddenly shatters, sending a shard into the chest of the person.  Anyone remember?  This site is amazing, btw!

    1. I was sure you had nailed it, but then after watching part of the film Will mentions below, I’m sure one of you got it, but I can’t tell which it was! I was like 5 or 6 years old when I saw it, so I can’t remember if it was a man or woman who got killed! They both look so similar!

  1. There is also a scene like that in the TV movie, This House Possessed, (1980) which is on You Tube. Slim Pickens gets impaled by a shred of glass from a mirror that shatters at him

  2. SOLVED–even though, and I wonder if this is a first–I’m not sure which of the “correct” replies is correct! It absolutely has to be one of the two films mentioned by either Will or Livinghead, but I can’t be sure which! There’s a ridiculous number of similarities–timing, POV, sequence of camera angles, etc.–that I honestly can’t tell which one is right, but even without IDing a specific film, I have to consider this SOLVED! Thanks again to the people on this amazing site.

  3. I mean that me and Will should both get credit, I just haven’t seen it listed on my solves list yet.

    1. I wasn’t sure what to do, but I think if Will is willing to donate his share to you I can give you a Solve point. In the future I think if its down to one of two choices suggested by two different people, it’s logical to give out half-points, maybe. This has never come up before.

  4. I don’t have any recorded wins at all. I never formally registered on the site . I sign in each time with my email when I post.

    1. Yep. I think you would probably be in the al-time top 10 if you had, you solve a lot and you’ve been around for years.
