The movie was in English and had color. Probably made in the 2000s.

A man comes to visit his family for christmas and a blonde woman comes to the same place as well(which is by the beach), but I think she came to that place because she was a theater director and was helping out for a play or something like that. Both the man and the woman have a dog, I remember one of them having a golden retriever. Well there were these kids, one of them was a girl who was the possibly the sibling of either the man or the woman, these kids wanted the man and the woman to be together so they used their dogs to trick them into meeting eachother without knowing it. Each kid calls the man and the woman saying that something happened to their dog and to meet on like a port( not sure what its called, its like a walkway made of wood that is by the beach). After they call them, both the man and the woman see eachother and end up figuring out that it was a trick. Another scene(which I think was later on into the movie) was where the man takes a visit to the theater to surprise the woman, but somehow he ends up proposing to anpther girl and get engaged. I think, I’m not sure, the other girl was a redhead. Well thats all I remember, hopefully its enough. Thanks in advance!!
