i was this movie in the late 90s or early 2000’s. It was a period or western film that seemed to be during the western expansion or Oregon trail time period.

the scene-

some bad men had ransacked a farm and the shot starts with a guy walking along a wooden beam like a tightrope and starts playfully dancing and jumping on it, you start to hear screams and you see that he’s got the beam smashing down on a woman’s hands or fingers to cause her pain.

you see that he’s doing this to lure her grown son or other male family members out of hiding to come rescue her, and the bandits shoot them as they come running down the hills to save her.
