Movie about Childhood memory being wrong

All I remember from this movie is a scene where two kids are fighting in a barn, then they start fighting on this beam when one of them falls. The other kid goes down to check on him and he looks dead. The kid steps in a puddle and he sees that it’s a thick red liquid. The kid runs away and leaves in the backseat of a car with supposedly his parents driving, the kid looking back as they leave. In a later scene, the kid is now an adult and he is now realising that the thick red substance was just red paint and the dead kid actually survived. That’s all I know. Watched the movie possible 10 years ago on TV, don’t remember if it was on DVD or a TV channel. Looking forward to any helpful responses, Thank you.

    1. I agree! I tried to find a clip with that scene in it without any luck, but that scene is definitely from “The Final Cut”

‘Alan walks down to where the boy fell and takes the rabbit’s foot necklace from his neck, then he thinks he steps in the boys blood, it turns out that he remembered wrong and it was actually just red paint!’
The next scene is him leaving town in the back seat of his parents car.
