Alright this was probably 15 years ago at least. It was a movie from either the early 90s but most likely from 80s, maybe late 70s.
What I remember is general plot and one scene very specifically. So general plot is more than one man is hunted by a larger group of people.
The hunted men have to climb a rope.
At some point the hunted men split up. Eventually the main character catches up to the guy that split off and he is in the center of this weird town dead with arrows and blades sticking out of him.
Then the main character notices other people or things are around. He starts fighting them all. Eventually he is in this post surrounded by them all and is using a bow staff to hold them off.
That is all I remember. I’ve literally wondered for -15 years what this movie was and I want closure. If you know please let me know.

Could this be “Gymkata”? It has men being hunted, a rope climbing scene, and a fight in a weird village. It’s set in a remote Eastern country that does often look medieval in development.
