So I’m trying to remember this movie from either the late 90s or early 2000s about a woman (in her 20s or 30s) found held captive in her elderly mother’s home, gaunt and pretty feral. A female detective or cop or social worker finds her and rescues her, eventually trying to socialize her. I remember the mom was mentally unstable and kept pleading for the woman to leave her and her daughter alone. Anyone got any ideas which one this was?

Good guess but unfortunately not the movie I’m looking for. There wasn’t a teenager involved, the rescued woman was in her 20s or 30s.
