Main character is a father who tries unsuccessfully to make his daughter a teddy bear for Christmas. He pleads with a toy store owner to let him have a bear but the owner says no, a scuffle ensues and the father ends up killing the store owner.
The main character is send to prison and becomes and artist. He is eventually reconnected with his daughter years later.
