All I remember about this movie is that it was set during the Cold War, and the characters were high school kids, I think, and they were doing a “duck and cover” drill in school, practicing hiding under desks should an A-bomb hit their town, and one of the main characters started freaking out, yelling about how it wouldn’t do any good, and that practicing to hide under desks was stupid.

I think Matinee had a scene like that. It was during the Cuban missile crisis and I think it was a girl who freaked out. Then someone said she must be a commie.
