The movie starts with two brothers living in a pioneer settlement with their parents. One brother somehow gets kidnapped and/or separated from the family and ends up living with an Indian tribe. He grows up their and eventually becomes a full member of the tribe.
Meanwhile, the father and brother have never stopped looking for him. The main scene I recall is towards the end. The brothers encounter each other on horseback, one dressed as an Indian, the other as a settler. Not recognizing each other, they lift their weapons but niether fires. They start talking and eventually realize who the other is in a heartwarming brotherly moment.
It might have been a hallmark movie but I can’t find it on the website. I know I watched it on tv. I think the word “River” was somewhere in the title but I could be wrong.
Maybe: Wind River (2000) – http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0135707/
That’s it! Thank you!
