I only remember these two scenes؛
A young boy who saves a girl in a swamp with witchcraft that stretch out a dried branch.
And in the last scene an old man with strange face tell a story to younger people about all movie and we likely realize that it wasn’t a tale , it was real ..
Possible, maybe, Legend? If the branch was a unicorn horn and depending on which ending you saw it might fit.
