I saw this one on TV I think it was two years ago or so. It was in color. It was an amazing dark/absurd humor movie. I think it was a German movie, at least I remember the characters’ names being German and I’m pretty sure (though not 100%) that the actors were German as well. The movie is set in the 19th century, in a Baron’s castle. The Baron has been murdered, so a detective comes to investigate. (I remember as if the detective was French, and people kept calling him Monsieur throughout the movie, but I may be mistaking it for another movie so don’t quote me on this one.) To the detective’s surprise, all of the castle’s residents are women. There’s the Baroness, her daughter (?), a maid and a cook (?). After lots of investigation, many intrigues and many instances of women trying to seduce and manipulate the detective, the detective somehow solves the mystery of the murder. In fact, it’s not a murder at all. Apparently, the old Baron had a weird fetish: he used to dress up in women’s clothing and dance around the halls of the castle. One day, while he was dancing, he tripped and fell down a flight of stairs, which resulted in him breaking his neck and dying. After this revelation, some other things happen and I believe the maid ends up knocking the detective over in the head with a pot. The detective is severely injured. The women move him down to the basement and wait for him to die, all fhe while the detective’s head is bleeding heavily. At the end of the movie, there are funny little where-are-they-now texts about the characters.
Well, I guess this is all I could gather about the movie. I believe I’ve done everything humanly possible to find its name, searched every single keyword combination of what I could remember about the movie but it seems impossible to find. Hope you guys can help me out, because it just popped up in my head after having been forgotten for a year and it won’t let me sleep now.
I really, really want to help You and spend about 2 hours looking for that movie. Nothing. Question: that man, who investigate, was regular policeman or rather good one? Police detective or rather privat detective? The house was castle or mansion, “big house”?
