in this movie a boy after witnessing a crime committed by a cop decides to leave the slums in search of his biological mother who gave him up because of teen pregnancy. he eventually finds her in a mall in a small town. his mother is a painter who has a store in the mall and also has a local police boyfriend. the boy had a spider web tattoo on his chest. the same cop whom he saw starts looking for him. the boy eventually meets a girl at the mall.

this was a color movie. i remember seeing it on tv during the 2000s but theres a chance it came out before. it was an english speaking movie
