I watched this movie once in the mid 1990s. It involved a group of preteens who were always talking about “the yeti” but never actually saw it. Scenes and details I can remember:
-kids go inside old woman’s home while she isn’t there and possibly destroy things inside
-girl walking accross bridge pushes boy riding bicycle on the railing of the bridge off into the water below
-there’s a recurring character who comes and goes, he’s a hobo boy who lives in the woods
-kids go to the woods to find the yeti
All I can remember from about 20 years ago.

Maybe?
I remember it having more serious undertones, almost along the same lines as Stand By Me
