The only scene I remember is the actress runs up a stairs to a bedroom and the male actor is standing there and she says something to the effect of “I knew you’d be here” and they have a conversation, she cries and he leaves.

I vaguely remember it was featured in a interview of a modern day actress who was commenting that this older actress had a talent for acting raw emotion.

From what I remember, it was a wartime-ish movie because, again, I vaguely remember the actor being in a soldier’s uniform. The female actor was in a white blouse and long A-line skirt.
