I saw the movie on Neflix around 2011-2013. It was in English, in color.

The main character of the movie is a dark haired high school boy. The boy skate boards, has a best friend who is present for most of the movie, and listens to alternative/punk music. When the boy’s high school crush dies he uses some sort of voodoo spell or magic he acquired from his strange neighbor to reanimate her body and bring his back to life. There’s a scene where he has to dress the girl and do her makeup to make her look less dead. There’s also a scene where they go to a punk concert. I remember the movie ending with the boy solving her murder. It turns out her boyfriend had drugged her in efforts to sleep with her, I think. I’ve tried searching for this movie so many times and I have  no idea what it’s called but I do remember the cover picture in Netflix being red with a hand sticking up out of the ground, although I could be wrong.
