This movie my be only less than 15 years old.

A man finds himself in several strange surroundings with strange people, he interacts with them…then at the end of the movie it shows him lying on some stairs hurt, maybe even dying. He must have fell down the stairs. He is looking at paintings on the walls of the stairwell…they are scenes of each one of the places and with the people he met…all of his experiences were just in his head!
