old maritial arts movie – rectangular stones strapped to sides of legs

Saw an old b/w maritial arts movie growing up in late 60’s early 70’s.  Student of the training had rectangular stones strapped to the sides of his legs and was in a hole bouncing on wooden planks.  When they were attacked – he took off the stones and was able to jump very high, out of the hole and helped defend them.  May have been dubbed into english, saw it on TV.   Can anyone find the title?

    1. Not this one… the stones on the legs were larger and it was a deeper hole outside – think itwas in black and white (we didn’t get a color TV until about ’75) – film had an older “feel” to the scenes …

    1. I saw it in the late 60’s / early 70’s and it was was a re-run then… black and white film and after looking at the above trailers – i’m thinking maybe a 30′ or 40’s movie…it had that older feel to it.

      1. Awww, I was really hoping this was it. I was vaguely aware of martial arts movies made that far back, but it seems the 1970s were the golden years. I grew up in the 70s and watched Black Belt Theater every Saturday and I love those 70s and 80s ‘chop sockey’ films. I have no idea what it could be, but if you want to see 2 EPIC kung-fu flicks, I think you would love Shaolin Temple and Master Killer, a.k.a. The 36th Chamber of Shaolin.

        1. I watched this movie either on one of those saturdays or on “dialing for dollars” in the afternoons. it was the martial arts school training it’s students and was attacked by a rival type or by the government. the setting was ancient as the stone blocks were hand carved and rough and it seems that there was a lot of pole weapons used. thanks anyway…
