.. animals illegally

From what I remember in this movie, at some point, in a forest, a divorced mother has broken her leg and is left using a long branch as a cane to walk and at the same time, she befriends and takes care of a female wolf who appears wounded and injured with something sharp stuck in one of her paws. Until help can arrive, they make a home somewhere in the forest.

Meanwhile, the mother’s only teenage son is left dealing with and trying to stop 2 poachers: one elderly and one young from hunting and skinning animals illegally after they take over his home.

Another scene I remember is that the mother finds 2 wolf cubs and brings them back to the female wolf for company. A few days later, a male adult wolf gets ready to attack the mother until he notices that she is friends with the female and the cubs. Later, after her son escapes custody from the poachers and is presumed killed after they shoot him and he falls down a hill, the elderly poacher meets the mother and when he sees the same male wolf that she met and befriended, he tries to shoot it only for the mother to stop him just in time with her branch/cane.

After the boy miraculously survives and subdues the poachers, he and his mother are rescued and the poachers are taken into custody for illegal poaching, skinning, and attempted murder.

Note: This is not a Disney movie, so, it’s not White Fang or its sequel or any Jungle Book movie either.
