I remember watching this as a child in the late 90s, I think -97 or -98 (I was in a hotel in South Africa and watched it on TV).

It’s some sort of horror/sci-fi/supernatural show or movie where there are several occurrences of spontaneous combustion. I remember seeing a girl (I think a teenager) who walks in a hallway with friends or classmates when some sort of candle-like thing starts growing on her nose.. and then on other parts of her skin. She panics and the candles burst into flame, setting her on fire, and she burns up.

It has the feel of shows like X-files, Buffy the vampire slayer, as well as Doctor Who.

Can’t remember much else, except that it gave me nightmares as a child 😛
