…secretly living in the house

I remember watching this movie on VHS when I was younger in the early 2000’s. So it’s a single dad with a teenage daughter and son who go to the same school and they have this handsome guy who seems nice and he helps the family out around the house while the dad is at work well I remember the teenage girl coming home with a friend who later comes up missing, then the son and daughter come home from school and go inside the house and everything seems fine but they find themselves locked inside every window and door locked and the girls boyfriend tries to get in the house and finally does and the guy who was working on the house ends up being the one who traps them in the house and kills the boyfriend and she tells her younger brother to go hide in the basement and don’t come out and he terrorizes the girl and her family. I very much remember scencea from the movie like a part where the girl was sleeping and she heard something late at night in her room and the chair was pushed up against the door. And the ending the guy died by falling through a hole in the floor leading to the basement and all inside a machine and was stuck and died. I thought the female lead actress was Kristen Dunst but I can’t find the movie anywhere. Does it at all sound familiar to anyone?
