Hello!

There’s this movie I watched when younger, probably came out around the late 80s early to mid 90s. I only really remember that there’s this TV show within the movie, it stars these monsters and there’s a boy involved. The on-screen personalities the monsters have is totally left behind in the changing rooms, where these monsters smoke and play poker. I think it may have been a sort of adventure movie? Can anyone help me with this?
