Hi,
I remember watching part of this mini-series probably in the early 1990’s. I remember very little about it but the following:
The hero was some sort of computer program that had come to life and had somehow gained human form. He had a sidekick who was actually human but I can’t remember what his job was. As I recall they were investigating something. What I remember the most is that the computer guy had an extremely fast car, so fast that you could barely see it when he drove it. So his sidekick at one point remarked that he was driving dangerously fast, to which the computer guy replied that it was all good because his reflexes were so fast. To which his sidekick replied “Maybe you have good reflexes, but all the other drivers are human and don’t have those reflexes” and the computer guy agreed and slowed down.
This was definitely in color and I’m thinking it was american in origin, though I suppose it could be Canadian.
If anyone can figure this one out, I’d be grateful
Automan (TV series 1983-84).
This series was just put out in a boxed set.
Here is a clip’
That’s the one, you rock!
You rock too! Thank you.
OK, OK, so you both rock. What am I, chopped liver? Solved!
Yes, you rock!
Wow I forgot about this show, that is some serious cheese right there. Not sure how someone could sit through a box set , could barely get through an episode as a kid. Six million dollar man it surely was not Ha Ha.
I dig the name frank white, is that from King of New York? That was one cool movie!
I <3 Automan. Great characters, great stories, so imaginative, and they make computers and programming seem so cool and mysterious and super sciencey.
Yes SeaGirl, I also loved the ’80s and the wonderful optimism we had for computer capabilities! So many movies come to mind. . Weird Science, Tron, War Games, Real Genius, etc., etc.
C’mon now, wasn’t The Six Million Dollar Man just a tad bit cheesy? That’s why I watched every episode(ha ha).
