The princess sneaks out to the village to see the guy that she loves. There is a scene where they are together in a haystack.
The guy she loves is either recruited into army or killed. Either way, he is out of the picture.
Then the princess meets with his brother, I think. Or maybe just his friend. He takes part in many fights and is very rude. She takes him into her palace, offering him to be a jester.
Their relationship is love/hate. There is a scene in the movie where she offers the guy to pick a wife from her maids, saying that one of them cooks well, another can saw and another one is always silent. The guy refuses, saying that he already made his pick (meaning her, the princess). The princess is unimpressed.
He repeatedly tries to get her attention but she refuses him till the very end and they end up together.
The princess is blonde, the first guy she falls in love with has long straight hair. The second one has short curly black hair. The movie is in color. I’d put it in 1990s-2000s, early 2010s tops. Not “Princess Bride”, not “White Princess”.
I saw it on TV, but I feel like it is a movie rather than an episode.
