Looking for a movie in a medieval setting, where a woman was torn between two men. Guy A was sentenced to death for something and Guy B realized she loved the convicted man more, so the night before Guy A was put to death Guy B sneaks into the prison and trades places with him, so their ladylove can keep the man she loves most and be happy. I believe Guy B died on a guillotine. I’m so appreciative for any help!
It’s definitely an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities, but not sure which adaptation. There have been several, most notably the 1935 version, a 1958 version and TV adaptations in 1980 and 1989 amongst others. Check out IMDB to see which version you think it was.
I agree, that’s what it sounds like, but I’ve looked at every ToTC adaptation I can find, nothing seems “knight in shining armor.”
