Ive been looking for this movie for god knows how long, and it’s very maddening because I’m usually very good at either remembering movie names or being able to find the name on google based on my search. Anyway, this is what I think I remember:

Two (i believe to be American) soldiers are fighting in some (possibly WWll) battle and suddenly (I think they fall) find gold/ treasure underground (like fall in a whole?) they decide they will return and get it, but before they leave the area (jungle looking) one of the soldiers hits the other with a rock in an attempt to kill him ensuring only he knows about the treasure.

Fast forward maybe 20-30 years. The now older soldier needs help going back to the place. He tries to get a group of “street fighter” friends to help him, and finally convinced them to go find the treasure. I distinctly remember the treasure being a gold “3D face” with either Asian or Indian features.

Also, turns out the soldier who got hit in the face did not die, and was only blinded by the impact (hit with a rock?) but is now too looking for the treasure with the help of his own ppl.

The group of friends end up finding the treasure, but in the final fight (underground where the treasure is) I believe everything burns down due to explosives surrounding the treasure.

•There is a girl in the group of fighter friends, ends up falling in love with the main guy who’s white.

• The main guy has a black friend who would “fake” fight with him in a pit (for money) before going out to find this treasure

• The map to the place (not sure if island) is stolen form a library (ripped out)

• I remember something about the spot where the treasure sits where you can see a mountain that looks like 3 fingers being held up (excluding thumb and pinky)

• Watched this movie in late 90s early 2000s.
