I remember watching a movie sometime prior to 2003 about a man who had lost his family, and subsequently no longer believed in God. All I really remember about the movie is a blind woman, a virtual-reality type thing (almost exactly like the new Samsung view thing), a vegetarian who said she wasn’t a vegetarian because she loved animals, she was a vegetarian because she hated plants, the mark of the beast on the wrists of Satan’s followers (much like a brand), and the dog died– not much to go on, but that’s all I remember.

I was really young when I saw this, and I KNOW I’m not making it up, but I have scoured the corners of the internet to no avail. Please help.
