A movie or tv series possible from the late 80’s early 90’s.
if you looked through a certain looking glass, like a pointer on Ouiji Board, you can see this little man in a robe. If he appeared at your feet it was a bad omen, if he made it to your head you would die. I seem to remember the little man was cgi or even a puppet.
