hey guys, ok, I don’t remember much…

there are two young people (a boy and a girl) there’s also a small cat and a small dog. I think we can hear what the animals are thinking but the kids can’t. Then I think there’s a dragon that’s sick in a treehouse and the kids need to collect orbs by traveling through portals. Then in the end (this is the part I remember vividly) the kids get rewarded by a tree, with one wish and they wish they could understand animals. Please please help me, I’m losing my mind. Also this was probably in the late 90s. It’s english. I saw it on tv, pretty sure it was too long to be a show. It was not animated but was in colour and the kids may have been visiting a grandparent and they thought it was going to be boring.
