In the late 80’s or early 90’s one of the pay channels (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime) had a foreign film (European I believe) that I am trying to find the title of.  It was color and the synopsis was a beautiful woman disembarked a train at a remote country station that was run by a tall gangly, eccentric man.  She had to stay there for quite a while before another train stopped and while she was there a country postman on a motorbike came by and tried to put the make on her.  She rebuffed the postman but he persisted and was shot by the eccentric station operator.  In the end she was able to board another train to leave and tried to get the station operator to come with her but he wouldnt leave his station and the final scene was him lying in bed deceased and covered with cobwebs.   Any help on this is appreciated.
