A film about film school

I saw this film on premium cable in the early 1980’s. It was American, in English, and in color. It was about a young man going to film school. The other students were making non-commercial films which ended up looking like parodies of French new wave cinema. The protagonist just wanted to make fun and entertaining lowbrow movies. That’s really all I remember. Thank you for your help.

What is this short animated film?

It was in color and in English. Probably American. I believe I saw it in the early 1980’s on a public television station. It was about a murderer covering his tracks, and it might have been about an actual case. The murderer killed his mail carrier while he was delivering the mail. The murderer realized that if he did not deliver the rest of the victim’s mail, the authorities would be able to figure out quite easily who the murderer was. So the murderer put on the victim’s uniform and went out to deliver the rest of the mail. A voice-over explained the action as it was happening.

Any ideas? Thank you.

Evil captors torture good guys by … removing their clothes. That’s not so bad, I guess.

I remember seeing this movie or television episode on TV as a child, probably during the early to mid-70’s, though it appeared to have been made in the late ’60’s. It was in English and in color. The tone was light-hearted and campy. The only thing I remember is a scene, probably near the end of the movie, in which a man is being held captive and standing upright in something like a cage at the center of what resembles an operating theater. But this is no ordinary cage. This cage contains mechanical arms which can be used to remove the prisoner’s clothing. The prisoner is wearing a uniform with a white shirt and blazer. The blazer has a badge on it, which looks like a coat of arms. The prisoner’s clothes are slowly being removed in the scene while a handful of spectators watch from above. The spectators as I recall are all women. In the nick of time, the “good guys” (who are men, though one of them might have been a woman), who wear similar uniforms, charge in and free the prisoner. One of them gives a speech, and the “bad guys” are foiled. Not a lot to go on, but perhaps someone out there also saw it, and like me, thought, “What on earth is this?” Thanks.
