Hear me out on this one, but I am pretty sure this was a real movie:

Martial arts movie where the human is fighting aliens. Obviously not a fair fight, so there was a way that they adjusted their strengths so even the whole thing. I think there were big puppets for some of the aliens. I had to have seen this movie in the mid-90s, if in fact it is real.
