So this was an indie film I watched on Amazon Prime probably in 2014 or 15.A young girl lives alone in a house in the middle of a meadow. I think it’s implied she’s the last one on earth. She is terrified when someone knocks on her door, but it’s her long lost older sister. They reconnect and then a man shows up. He only interacts with the first, younger sister and convinces her to leave her safe house and venture out into the world. Her sister doesn’t want to go, but the man says she’s only imagining the sister. All the photos with both of them are shown to only be of the girl. She leaves with the man, and one of them shoots the other. It’s revealed through flashbacks that she saw her father killed by this man pre-apocalypse. The flashbacks were going with her father to the carnival or somewhere fun in the city, but they end up in the alleyway and the man jumps the dad. It’s not said for certain, but the idea is there perhaps was no apocalypse at all but this is a post trauma dream world she’s created to feel safe.
