Okay when I was a child I watched this movie, and I am not sure of the year, but it was definitely made before the 70’s. It’s in english,

In my mind the movie is black and white, but the glowing I see as green….but that could just be my mind. ANYWAY, I don’t remember the storyline I just remember the main actor (who in my mind looks like Cary Grant or Gregory Peck) is in some house of an old couple and he’s staying in an upstairs room. Something is wrong with the water and I think it’s making the old lady sick…in his room is a closet with a sink or something and he washes his hands and they start glowing? Or he’s about to wash his hands and then he hears the dog bark. I remember a dog outside barking at something and he looks out and sees the dog, but later the dog drinks the water and dies (I think) and he looks out the window again later on because he hears the dog barking and sees the dead dog running down the street only the dog is a ghost and glowing and running kind of slower/gliding. This is has been boggling my mind and I really hope someone knows what I’m talking about because I have No clue or who was in it! Thanks!
