I saw this on TV around the late 80’s. An alien ship landed near a boy’s house. They took over the town (I don’t think the aliens themselves were shown – they weren’t the focus at least) by stinging people on the back of their necks. The attacked people pretended nothing happened but convinced everyone else to go to the ship and let the giant needle sting them too. The only way to know if someone was okay was to check their neck because it would be bandaged. The kid’s parents were either the first or the last ones taken but the boy was the last normal person left. It might have all been his dream.
