I remember it as being mid- to late 80’s, a preteen kid is kidnapped by at least two dudes who take him to a forest.  The boy escapes somehow but doesn’t have any survival skills and then meets a crazy hermit who helps him by teaching the boy forest guerilla tactics and setting traps for the kidnappers.  There may be a father looking for the boy? The only line of dialogue I remember is when the boy marvelas at bow much rope the hermit has, the hermit says “Ain’t no man can have too much rope.”. Plz help me figure this out.
