I remember a horror movie, I’m pretty sure it was from the ’00s but it could have been from the’ 90s. It was set in an insane asylum, sanitarium, or hospital of some sort, and the building was tall with rounded edges built into the side of a cliff next to the sea, and I’m pretty sure it was white. The only other thing I remember about it is that a handful of people go inside and that the building locks itself in the evening and unlocks itself in the morning.

I check but no that was not it. it was made in the 70s. Sorry I thought I put 70’s in the title head but it did not come up that way. But its was a 1970’s action/thriller film and again the women and kids were killed
No, I’m sure this isn’t it. None of the images look familiar. It wasn’t just a house, it was a really huge building like a hospital or something, and it was built into like an oceanside cliff. It was tall though, like the entrance was at the top, but the building extended all the way down the cliff face to water level, and it was rounded and didn’t have any sharp corners. Vague, I know, but it’s all I remember.
Pretty sure it’s “House on Haunted Hill”(1999), the building doesn’t look like a house and it IS built into the side of a cliff and it is ’rounded’, and the people do get locked in by doors with locking mechanisms. Here is a picture of the building.

If I remember right the building locked itself at night and unlocked itself in the morning, like it had built in mechanisms to do so, so once you were in for the night you were stuck there until it unlocked itself in the morning.
