I have asked ChatGPT a couple times, but I have thought about this for years and years. I’m almost 36 years old and I have to have seen this scene sometime between 1993 and 1996 and it was only once that I saw it and it traumatized me.
From what I can recall:

it was either a television episode or scene from a movie where this one scene stuck out. My parents watched a lot of Tales from the Crypt and x-files and I feel like it could have been one of those if it was a tv show, but I can’t find a specific episode mentioning that.
So, the scene: I remember a little boy, preteen or younger having either an ice pick or a screwdriver stuck up his nose or through his ear, possibly both, but I can’t recall if he did it himself or someone did it to him. I want to say he was doing a trick, but I don’t think it was a comedy type show… (that could also be something my parents said to make me less traumatized lol). I remember him being in a room full of people, possibly at a funeral wake and the lighting in the room was dark and gloomy.
