80s movie (?) about an evil character stealing the soul of a singer in order to force her to sing only for him.

I’ve seen this on television with hungarian dubbing at the beginning of the 80s.
There is a man who lives in a castle or mansion, he’s “evil”.
He steals the soul (?) of a singer (a woman) and locks it in a box (?) in order to force her to sing only for him.
There is an old tree standing next to the castle and there is a connection between it’s life and the life of the ruler of the castle.
If the tree loses it’s last branch the caslte will crumble and the man will die.
The tree is the haunt of ghost and monsters.
Eventually people from a nearby village gather to rescue the singer and they succeed. Probably somebody shoots off the last branch of the tree. At first they are scared of the monsters but it turns outthat they are fake.

    1. Oh man, this seem to fit the description!
I’ll relay the info and wait for a confirmation but thank you so much this has to be it.
I have tried to Google this out for hours, how did you you find it if I may ask?

  1. I’ve never actually seen this but I was so intrigued by the description that I just started researching it and saw the listing on IMDB. It looks like a very interesting movie.

    1. I was told it’s not it. But your suggestion still helped because it’s probable that the movie we tried to find is based on the same Jules Verne story that
The Mysterious Castle in the Carpathians is based on.
