Man walks on building’s ledge to escape psycho with a trumpet, falls to death

Seen on late night TV long ago. A man tries to get away from some sort of psycho, gets out of a window and start walking on the building’s ledge, almost falls a few times but recovers. Eventually the psycho was waiting for him around the next window, startles him by blowing a trumpet and the victim falls to his death. The scene is at night if I recall correctly.

  1. It sounds like a Stephen King short story adapted to a movie that I’m not sure they made, but I think it’s called “The Ledge” and the man is forced to walk around the ledge by husband of the woman he’s having an affair with. If he can make it all around the building and return to the original window, he wins his life. If he falls, oh well…

  2. Yes! Spot on, both of you! Thank you so much!
I just looked it up on Youtube, and found a few clips confirming that is definitely the film (although I was mis-remembering a few details).
When I saw it as a child, it was terrifying, and it has stuck in my mind all this time.

    1. Great, pleased to help.
It is a good movie. All three stories in it are entertaining.
The guy has to do a complete lap of the building’s ledge, but the guy who bets he cant do it, blows a horn snd tries other things to make him fall.
