There was this movie, in the late 90’s or early 2000′ about a regular teenage girl. One a day a famous singer/dancer transfers to her school and they befriend each other. I remember a scene where he picks her up on a date with a red sportscar, or gifts it to her. They guy looked like 2000’s jesse mccartney or frankie muniz.

They also had a date on the beach with that red sports car.

I think the name has the word star in it  or something like that.
