Here’s what I remember : the main protagonist was a girl. I think she didn’t want to be around her family because her mom might have remarried & she didn’t like her step father? But there was a secret portal in her closet that took her to some other fantasy land. There might have been Muppets but don’t quote me on that. There was an evil queen/witch that ruled the land or something. I distinctly remember at the end, there was this tree in the center of everything that was surrounded by a glass dome. I think it had magical properties or something because this town needed it but the queen/witch was taking the fruit (which I think were cherries but I don’t think they were red) . In the end the girl was able to lock either the key to this dome in the dome so no one could get to it or she was able to lock the queen/witch in the dome so she couldn’t bother anyone again. The movie was in English but I don’t know if it was American or Canadian. And I saw it in the 1980’s, mid-80’s perhaps?
