Hello everyone! I hope any of you could help me with this movie. I remember almost everything, but I can’t seem to find it. (Sorry if a say something weird, English isn’t my main language)

The movie begins with a news announcement that an artificial satellite has broken and it’s starting to fall to Earth. Each day that passes, the news announce a new location in which the satellite may collide.

The main protagonist is a girl whose life is a mess, she is still dating her highschool boyfriend, a boy who still plays guitar with his highschool band. The girl’s mother is very eccentric and suddenly confess to her daughter who is her father, a man whom she only met in a costume party. Her father is a little eccentric too, and (if I’m not mistaken) is a photographer.

Every time the girl faces a problem she doesn’t want to face, she imagines herself commiting suicide, like by eating chocolate, or crashing the old van she drives, or getting hit by the satellite, but even in her imagination the suicides fail for silly reasons.

I watched the movie between 1996 and 1999 in TV (and I think it is from the ’90), it was in color, and I believe it is from the USA (it was dubbed, but all the locations named were northamerican)
