This movie was set on a British controlled island sometime after a war. I got the idea that the English Army was an occupying army on an isolated island. Women were sent to the island to marry the soldier stationed there. They were called the “Roses of England.” I remember a scene where a Sargent is leading the soldiers in a chant of “We kill cause we got the skill.” at dinner one night. The Prince of Wales shows up and hits on a wife of one of the soldier much to the discomfort of the soldier. At the end of the movie, one of the more independent women walks in a mine field, steps on a mine and dies.
