British movie about an invislble creature

It’s in color, probably from the early 2000’s.  It’s in English and I saw it on TV. It takes pace at a military base that is mostly underground. The soldiers wear white T-shirts. They have an invisible creature inside a kind of electronic cage. The only woman present is (I think) a reporter, A man with white hair arrives and disapproves of the project. The invisible creature escapes and makes somebody dance and then kills he white haired man by making parts of his body disappear. It then escapes outside and bounces a ball along the ground as it leaves. The woman also escapes outside but is captured by the base commander and put inside the electronic cage. He then kills her and what I guess is her soul rises from her body but cannot leave the enclosure.

    1. Thank you for this information. At first I was unsure that this was my movie, as I don’t recall it being that darkly lit; also the events seen in the trailer didn’t ring a loud bell, and I didn’t see the parts that I do recall, but that could just be due to gaps in my own memory, or my “mis-memories.” But the plot details fit. I was more convinced after reading some reviews, and this line in particular settled it for me: “…. a farcical climax – unintentional laughter is guaranteed, just wait ’til you see what Turner does with a basketball…. ” I do indeed recall a basketball bouncing along outside near the end. (I was a little surprised how negative many of the reviews were,) So thank you for finding me movie! I had halfway convinced myself that I had dreamed it,,,
