So I remember  watching this movie in the late 90s to no later than 2002. I was about 5-8 watching this but I know it probably wasnt something I should have been watching. For some odd reason I keep picturing Sally Fields in this movie but none of the movies listed seem to relate to what Im thinking of.

The scene I remember most is that this woman is dressed in all black, and i think she’s in Victorian attire, but she fills her pockets up with stones and walks into the ocean. She killed herself like this as her child (who i think is sally field’s character as a child) watches from the beach. As the movie continues, it fast forwards to the girl being a young women. I cant remember though if Sally is being haunted by her mother  or if the spirit of her mother is trying to prevent a relationship with someone.
