I think the film was1980’s. He had a Lucid Dream, his spirit in his body form flew from his body while he was sleeping in hotel room or bed room, there was a rope or a line (white color) connected his body and his spirit. I think he went to South America country. Later he talked to an Indian man, and he said once you die, the line/rope will be cut off, so you cannot go back to your body. Later while he was driving his car ( I think Jeep), the Indian guy was sitting next to him, asked him not to touch the steer, and some how he can control the movement of the steer by using some kind of metaphysical power. It seemed the Indian Guy taught him how to get the power. It was not a thriller movie. It was more like kind of movie played by Kevin Costner in Dragon Fly.
