Foreign (maybe Spanish) horror film – hot witch + teenage boy = intercourse, murder etc.

Hey’all

This is my first post here, but this movie has been haunting (boom-tish) me for years.

OK, so I watched this film on TV maybe 8-10 years ago on BBC 1 or 2 (yes, a Brit here)

It was a foreign subtitled film; I think it was Mexican, but it could have been South American – or maybe even Spanish?

The setting is somewhere fairly remote, it looks hot and dry like a desert, and it’s quite a small village/town.

Essentially, I think the plot was a man looking back on his teenage years during which time he had a relationship with a beautiful older woman, who was a witch (or at least believed to be a witch). Ultimately, she is murdered/executed by the townspeople for being a witch/bewitching the menfolk/miscellaneous witchy deeds.

I seem to remember the opening scene is this man as an adult in bed with this beautiful dark-haired woman. Everything is very white and heavenly looking – until he turns to her and she’s suddenly all corpse-like (JUMP SCARE!!)

Going back into the past, when he was a teen, all the other men in the town wanted to bone this witch woman because she’s so beautiful; she decides to have a relationship with the teenage boy and he visits her in her isolated cabin/house for multiple rendezvous.

I remember one scene in particular, probably at the climax of the film, where the boy is standing some distance away from the witch’s house, just waiting. It’s almost pitch dark, but something moves under the moonlight – and the boy sees all the men from the village creeping up to the house. They’re sort of leopard crawling along – I remember it reminded me of snakes slithering along the ground. Creepy.

That’s pretty much all I can remember – please help me find out the name of this movie!!

    1. So I checked Lips of Blood out on Google images (a thorough investigation, I know) and it doesn’t look like it to me. Thanks very much though, I didn’t expect a reply – the search continues…please share you wisdom!

    1. I made a further research and I probably discovered the title of the movie, it’s Stories to stay Awake: Spectre (Historias para no dormir: Regreso a Moira) a spanish 2006 movie Directed by Mateo Gil.
